MERCI!!!!

I want to express a huge thank you to all parents for coming out to the interviews - or answering the phone 😉.   Thank you for your support and thank you especially  for your children who keep me wanting to come back to work every day!  I am blessed to be able to work with such creative, intelligent, and interesting young minds.

    We go to the library two times a week for free WiFi.

lundi, le 5 juin: The students had Art and a special Rugby presentation during their Library period today. In français, we went over vocabulary for les sports, les activités, les verbes, et les équipements. Next we reviewed the verb faire de. In Math, the students had a probability test on google classroom. We had Reading Buddies, followed by more time to complete the Math test. We ran out of time for English, but I have sent them home with a review sheet on similes and metaphors to review what we have been doing in class. Just a reminder that this coming Thursday is our school's Jump Rope for Heart Event.  Try to get the donation envelopes in before the event.  Also, Friday is a PA Day.  There will be no school for students on that day. mardi, le 6 juin: In français, the students did some translation work using jouer, faire, les activités, and les endroits. What did you do at school today? NOVEMBER edition

mardi, le 1er novembre: We began the day in the computer lab.  We are learning to use PowerPoint to make a slideshow presentation which we will be doing in a few weeks in Social Studies.  Today was just getting familiar with the program and testing out different effects. In français, the students used one period to practice and prepare for their weather forecasts.  In order to be most effective, they will need to memorize their presentation.   *Presentations will take place on Monday next week rather than this Friday so they can use the weekend to memorize. In Études Sociales, we spent some time learning how to use a French/English dictionary properly to help them when reading new Social Studies texts in French.  We continued to learn about the main industries in Nova Scotia. In Science, Ms. Takahashi has them working on creating their own Science games. January is Tamil Heritage Month! from:   tdsb.on.ca On the occasion of Canada’s 150th anniversary, we acknowledge the enduring presence of our Indigenous communities and recognize the fact that Canada has become home to many communities seeking refuge and opportunities. The theme for Tamil Heritage Month this year is Roots & Routes. To explore this theme, we are asking the following question: How have your cultural roots, as well as your family’s route(s) to Canada, shaped and continue to shape your identity as a Tamil Canadian today?
