Important and Upcoming Dates to Remember for December, 2016.


Friday, December 2, 2016:  PA Day

Thursday, December 8, 2016:  Pizza lunch. **Forms and money are due on Wednesday, November 30.

Movie Presentation in the Gym - hosted by Parent Council.  This will take place on Monday, December 12 from 2:50 to 4:45 in the Gym.

Holiday Concert - Tuesday, December 20, 2016. 6:00 - 8:00 pm.  *Please note that this is a change from the original time and it will be divided into 2 smaller concerts:  1) 6:00 - 6:45 with the Kindergartens, 6/7 band, Luke’s 6/7 and Browne/Chadha 7/8 class
2) 7:00 - 8:00 with the rest of the remaining classes and performances  **Our class would be performing in the section!!!**


Last day of school before the Christmas Holidays:  Friday, December 23, 2016.
First day back after the holidays:  Monday, January 9, 2016.  *Please note that I will be away (out of the country) for the entire 2 weeks and will not be updating or responding to the blog or google classroom over the holidays.  Enjoy your time with you family and friends and I will see you all in 2017.*

lundi, le 5 juin: The students had Art and a special Rugby presentation during their Library period today. In français, we went over vocabulary for les sports, les activités, les verbes, et les équipements. Next we reviewed the verb faire de. In Math, the students had a probability test on google classroom. We had Reading Buddies, followed by more time to complete the Math test. We ran out of time for English, but I have sent them home with a review sheet on similes and metaphors to review what we have been doing in class. What did you do at school today? NOVEMBER edition

mardi, le 1er novembre: We began the day in the computer lab.  We are learning to use PowerPoint to make a slideshow presentation which we will be doing in a few weeks in Social Studies.  Today was just getting familiar with the program and testing out different effects. In français, the students used one period to practice and prepare for their weather forecasts.  In order to be most effective, they will need to memorize their presentation.   *Presentations will take place on Monday next week rather than this Friday so they can use the weekend to memorize. In Études Sociales, we spent some time learning how to use a French/English dictionary properly to help them when reading new Social Studies texts in French.  We continued to learn about the main industries in Nova Scotia. In Science, Ms. Takahashi has them working on creating their own Science games. What did you do at school today? February edition

mercredi, le 1er février: In français, the students completed some ER verb practice on Google classroom. In Math, they reviewed elapsed time and analog clocks in preparation for the quiz on Friday. In English, the students worked on their narratives about their Reading Buddies. Don't forget that we are going skating tomorrow afternoon so anyone who has his/her own skates and/or helmets needs to bring them to school tomorrow. jeudi, le 2 février: In français, I taught the students how to tell the time in French.  We watched some videos about it before discussing it as a class and doing some in-class practice.  The videos are below: We got fitted for helmets and that was the morning!  We had a great afternoon skating despite having a minor hiccup when we arrived (the arena was not ready and we needed to wait until someone could come out and get it ready for us).  They should be nice and tired for you tonight.  I was really impressed by the chil
